Present
The town of Bácsky Petrovec is an administrative center of the Municipality of Bácsky Petrovec, which includes the neighbouring villages of Hloany, Kulpin and Bácsky Maglic. Petrovec of today is an economical, cultural, religious and sports center of the municipality. Petrovec is a town of youth. It educates its young generations in The Ján Cajak Primary School and The Ján Kollár Grammar School, which offers the accomodation in its boarding house to the students from many distant Slovak villages from all over Vojvodina.
After a period of war hardships and hyperinflation, the international blockade, the sanctions imposed on our country during the last decade of the last century, Petrovec is gradually coming to itself The private sector contributes to its renewal by investing into the further development of this community. Among these who contribute most are the fellow countrymen who have emigrated overseas but still feel a strong attachment to their roots.
Its culture has been enhanced by various cultural happenings and important conferences. One of the significant events was the foundation of The Slovak Theater of Vojvodina in Petrovec in 2004.
In regards to everything that has been going on in Petrovec in recent years it is evident that it has every predisposition to grow into a well developed, modern town.
